The Tree Of Life Poem by Angiuli Aguiar

The Tree Of Life

Around the tree of Life a lake there lies
Of fearful flames and tender waves of ice
Where in one essence both were intertwined
The sinuous rivers of the Heart and Mind.
The fire can not undo the ice, nor might
It be extinguished, neither can the Night
Embrace all stars with darkness, neither may
The Light all conquer with her charming ray.
For thus is Love's dominion, where the roots
Of Life's tree dwell, for evermore sweet fruits
And flowers breeeding. There, at Beauty's songs
Unheard of Passion fair all Nature throngs;
Along, amidst the eternal ice and fire
Walks hand-in-hand with yours my love's desire.
