The Truth Of Me Poem by Victoria Hughes

The Truth Of Me

Here I speak the truth of me
An inalienable truth it be
Yes I act a little crazily
But the reason is buried in memory.

I have loved and lost before
And several times recounted more
The reasons for the passes on
Of those loved that are now gone.

I have to leave the past behind
And triumph over days gone by
Return to a place where I can breathe
And escape the power of my souls' grief

In leaving my past woes behind
I hope to find a truer kind
A new form of knowing me
Achieve the enlightenment of the free.
