The Tsunami Poem by anjana asok(12 yrs)

The Tsunami

No one knew where it came from,
no one knew why it beat its drum,
but what that everybody knew was,
that it was a great disaster as,
you know it is.

Starting from the Sumatra islands,
laughing mightily it surfed to inlands,
of the waiting indian shores,
wiping it clean of man or trees,
giving india a terrible shock

People were left with nothing as kind,
except their body, soul and mind,
broken were they from their dear ones,
for whom they wept all days in tonnes,
it was the saddest sight of all.

like the shatter of a clear glass piece,
did devil life from people seize,
more than lakhs were eaten by the sea,
survivors fought for clothes and pea,
it was the terrible time of all.

newspapers and media flashed news,
of the monstrous waves and jews,
muslims, hindus to god all of them prayed,
for the peace of people who were slayed,
it was the time of prayer.

thus the 'Tsunami' ended, the disaster
tearing apart seas for its master,
the one who crated it and this world.

there were times of prayer and many a sorrowful day,
but in this darker smudge of darkness there is still a happy ray!
