The Two Of Us Pretending Poem by Tsunami HiroshiSu

The Two Of Us Pretending

Two of us walking nowhere
Seeing nothing
But men cloaked in shadow
Pretending to be invisible

Two of us standing right here
Watching rainbows
Touching down upon the earth
Then pull back
Pretending not to care

Two of us sharing stories
Drinking coffee
Spilling, pooling on the floor
Pretending nothing happened. Ordering another

Me ‘n' you singing our glee to the night
Waving ribbons
Fraying ends
Pretending you love me

You and I holdin' hands
Knowing only
The solace of each other
Pretending to shut out the rest of the world

Me ‘n' you making faces
Paper airplanes
Cotton falls
Pretending sun don't shine

Two of us holding on
Letting go
Falling down
Getting up

Living on and on and on and on and on
Pretending day to day
The two of us…
