The Unexamined Life Poem by tharindra galahena

The Unexamined Life

'The unexamined life is not worth living'
Told by a wise man long time ago,
(May be one of the wisest of all)
Seems like a nice piece of wisdom.
You can share it on social media.

But who among us dare to dive,
Into the dark abyss of our souls.
To see through the thick shell we are in,
Made of scrap metal and cardboard,
Of empty words and blind wisdom,
Of empty jokes that make others smile,
And makes us look smart.

To see the tiny and pathetic creature,
Lurking inside the shell.
And still not go into insanity.

The unexamined life may not worth living,
But it's a damn happy life.

Very true, not many are willing to examine their lives, they believe ignorance is bliss! Gentle wisdom in your poem, I loved it. Thank you for sharing it, RoseAnn
