The Unexpected Guest Poem by Richard Ikolo

The Unexpected Guest

Rating: 4.8

No prior notice, no inkling
Could come in the morning
And sets the family in mourning
Men wailing, women weeping

The dreaded and unquestionable one!
But why now, when we need him the most
Why have you snatched from us our dearest?
Don't suppose the battle you have won

To the world beyond, he has gone
Possessions and wealth become irrelevant
Certificates, awards and titles go redundant
Yes, life in eternity has begun

Before the great white throne judgement
He trembles at the great judge
'Here's your report card, 'Mr. George
You're sentenced to everlasting torment!

Gird yourself for the unexpected guest
The messenger could come any day
How ready are you today?
From north to south, from east to west.
