The Unicorn Poem by Edwina Reizer

The Unicorn

In the land of make believe
lives a creature in the wild.
Sleek, white and beautiful to see,
I become again as a child.

I ride bare-back and feel the muscles
of this steed with a horn.
We ride through the clouds slowly
and a new morn is born.

I will tame his wildness and spirit
for I am still a virgin.
Chaste and still able to mount.
I have the power over him.

Unicorn, my unicorn I fear growing up
for surely I will fall in love
and maidenheads will be forgotten
and you will rise above

searching for another virgin maiden
to grab hold your horn in their hand.
And I will miss the ride we shared
in this wonderful magic land.
