The Vessel Poem by J.B. LeBuert

The Vessel

Rating: 5.0

She seemed the vessel that spewed the real truth
It flowed from her soft lips of pure delight
Bestowed with great power while in her youth
Each word, each message, spoken with such might
Every ear turned to this voice of reason
Mellifluous tones floating on the air
Her beauty at the height of her season
She cast spells with words, so hauntingly fair
But, the truth always came entwined with lies
This fact, kept buried was no mystery
Spellbound by her words as if from the skies
She knew the lessons learned from history
'Follow me' she said with her lovely breath
Her path led them all, to their shocking death
