The Vicar's Wife Poem by Kevin Crinks

The Vicar's Wife

A vision to behold, the Vicar’s wife
Her hair and figure, complexion too
Her presence enhances this parish’s life
For women like her are tragically few

She smiles and the church bells start to ring
She makes the sun shine ever brighter
And when she speaks, her gentle sound
Seems to make the bad days lighter

Take time to gaze upon this heavenly sight
For the moment shall truly stand still
As she commands your attention by simply being
And –spellbound – you submit to her will

I cannot but look with wondering fascination
As to how her place here came to be
Then I remember with joy that I am the Vicar
And – thank goodness – she married me!
