The Waiting Game Poem by SAS Marshall

The Waiting Game

If it's true what they say then all i have to do is wait
Time comes then time goes but all i have to do is wait
'In good time dear' Granma quotes 'Just wait your turn' Mother echos
The word patience has become a dear friend to me
We play the waiting game together...

If it's true what they say then I just have to wait a little more
'Time will tell' Dad always says 'Your so impatient' big brother yells
Everyone treats me like a baby...when will i be older?
The word patience has become a dear friend to me
We play the waiting game together...

I'm nearly older enough now to give orders like Granma,
Mother, Dad and big brother
But they still tell me to wait just a little more
The word patience has become a dear friend to me
We play the waiting game together...

I've finished waiting now i got what i wanted
To be a grown up...
It's not all it seems, i got bills to pay, mouths to feed
The word patience was a dear friend to me
I wish we could play the waiting game one more time...just one more time
But this time forever
