The Wedding Poem by Gargee Kanhere

The Wedding

The birds chirped to break my sleep
the sun smiled at me in a wicked way
A morning, like no other morning
and the world knows it is my big day

Millions of thoughts jumble me
its a new start into a new life
today in the midst of blessings
I will be someone's wife

Many new relations are about to
get inaugurated into my heart
I finally found a perfect wheel
for my life's cart

My lips are cold, my hands do shiver
but still my soul asks me to smile
as I make a promise
to keep him away from every vile

My eyes now envision his dreams
he is my king, he is my delight
today in the middle of sparkling faces
its heaven on earth as our souls unite.

this is full of promise, but somehow there's still fear and trepidation there! great stuff!
