The Wonders' Cradle Poem by Asma Khan

The Wonders' Cradle

Have you ever wondered why
wolves cry in the full moon's night?
The pain takes over their fears
The loneliness leave them alone

Have you ever seen a lion dying?
The battle must be over
The hunt must have haunted him

Have you ever tried to laugh in pain?
The senses must have been dead
The hopes would have been lost

Have you ever felt a broken heart's edge?
The wishes must have melted down to the eyes
The dreams must have flown far away from the eyes

Have you ever witnessed a day break from the night?
The darkness fades slowly swallowing itself
The quietness screams in the ears of echos

Have you ever tasted your own tears?
The sorrows zest with past on your tongue
The memories sour, sweet and bitter to swallow

Have you ever known what you wanted if not me?
The desires must have possessed you in a moment
The broken dreams would have guided you in my path then!
