The Woodpecker Poem by Tony Adah

The Woodpecker

I am the woodpecker
My strength is so far but near
Where my talk comes from
There lies my strength.
If I can bore a hole in this
Mohagony tree, then I will
Make my mama a tomb
On a solid slab of granite
At Okagbor.
When the time comes
Please, please remind me
For I have a strong beak.
