The Words One Should Say Poem by Joshua Schultz

Dad I will forever remeber the words that no one should say
because I said them to you, and you died the next day
the words 'I hate you' will forever be a reminder of the day you died
and I wish I could tell you that those words were a lie
I didn't mean them it was my fault that you died
im so sorry dad I wish I couldve said I love you and goodbye
but I will never be able to, and those words no one should say have been burned into my thoughts
those words are a constant reminder of your death as my mind rots
I don't deserve the life I have been given, so please take it away
I want to say im sorry, and if that means I have to die, thats ok
I will never be fine until I see you again
but I will have to go on in this life pretending that im ok
but I want to say I love you but your so far away
I know that your gone dad but I need you tonight
because until i get to say I love you I will not be alright
you're probably busy playing baseball in heaven
or at least dreaming it from inside of your coffin
I want to leave something different with you forever
but those words no one should say I will always remember
