The Words That Speak Poem by Francisca Darko

The Words That Speak

I write on my page
Embedded they sink
Describing an image
With nothing but ink

Each word has a meaning
Each word has a thought
In my mind they are floating
And with my pen they are caught

They all have a history
A character they create
They tell their own story
A feeling, an object, a place

A bang, a fizz, a pop or a crackle
They hush with silence or else they squeak
Aren't they just so wonderful?
These marvellous words that speak!

It is marvelous how your words speak. It can be a challenge to catch and convey the words floating in our minds. Thanks for sharing.
