The World Today Poem by Hannah Anderson

The World Today

Rating: 5.0

People turn their backs and run away
from all the things i want to say
they close their eyes and shut the door
help the rich and kill the poor
you'll see sympathy is hard to find
when everyone around is blind
to the hate and death and tears
to the hardship through the years

only power matters now
and money is the who and how
innocents are dieing in this fight
girls work the corner every night
ghettos out of sight are hid
overflowing with starving kids

young men's dreams are burned to ash
babies die without a past
politics invade our minds
corruption isn't hard to find
