There Poem by Reece Richardson

There

There

There's a darkness in the sky
Hundreds of Thieves have stolen the stars.
An emptiness only matched and met by the
Deafening silence of the Sun Bare Faced

Rock is all that's left

Gifts

long ago given Thrown away to rot in
Prison cells, rivers, backyards, landfills, Oceans,
forests, City Centres.

A solitary winged…
Whispering of what could have been
flies around the earth between here and
the moon

Everything that seemed to matter so
much, Tears shed, blood wept calls
out from beyond the grave with
laughter at how it is now happy true insignificance in comparison to its part in the bigger picture has been recognised by the empty space

Part in this? a grain of sand

grain

of

Sand
