There Is A Land To Which I Go Poem by Thomas Noel Smith

There Is A Land To Which I Go

There is a land to which I go
Where bitter memories cannot live
Memories of those that I have wronged.
Will whisper words “I forgive”

The hurting eyes that plague my dreams
And the weeping breaking hearts
That call my name with plaintive sighs
Will from me depart
.
I have wronged and hurt so many souls
So many, I can’t recall
And my aching heart says to me
“Better to not have lived at all.”.

Oh let me go beyond my dreams
Where sins are forever lost
And redemptive songs fill the air,
And no souls are tempest-tossed.

There is a land to which I’m bound
Where bitter memories cannot live
Memories of all that I have wronged
Will whisper words “I forgive”.
