There Is No Escape... Poem by Born Frustrated

There Is No Escape...

The darkness falls upon the unexpecting city
The Streets once shined in the light, and travelers would say,
'Look it’s so pretty'
Until the day the darkness came...

A rise in the murder rate
No one knew what had happened
They just watched as the numbers would elevate
Women would cry as a knife began pressing against their necks...

And forced to strip and their screams would echo for miles, and
Their tears would never stop, their lives never the same
Their dreams would end, and be replaced with nightmares
Cops would listen to story after story, but had no one to blame...

Body after body fished out of the river,
Children would cry as their fathers' dead bodies soaked to the bone,
Would lay motionless before them
Blood all around, piles of bodies burning, the smell ruled the land...

There is no escape...
