There Is So Much In Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

There Is So Much In Nature

There is so much in Nature for to write about
And our value to her I for one always doubt
For she'd be better off without us I speak what is true
And the children of the future must pay for our debts to her overdue
For the Earth Mother who feeds us we do not have tears
And our abuse of her for financial gain it has gone on for years
More trees are being felled and more Land cleared every day
In the name of human progress for buildings to make way
In our pollution of water and in our pollution of air
To the future generations we are not being fair
For her to survive Mother Earth us does not need
She will extract from us a huge price for our greed
And it does seem a sad thing for to have to say
That the future generations for our mistakes must pay.
