These Imaginary Dreams Poem by Paige Gallagher

These Imaginary Dreams

As I spin around
In a circle
I dreaded what I would see
Once I opened my eyes
But I did it very slowly...
As if to impose minimal damage
It did not suppress the shock,
Though I did expect it slightly
I saw myself asleep
In an induced coma
At the hospital
As I imagine the dreams,
Going through my head
I feel as though I can see them
Already I am experiencing them.
But they go straight through me,
And I am left with no memory of them...
These imaginary dreams.
