They Always Get Through Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

They Always Get Through

He's away tonight
the room feels cold.
She sits in their seat, missing him.
Hours pass,
she worries.
Others talk to her, reassuring
some persuading her to walk away.
she blocks them out
wanting to see her angel again
she phones.
He's been in an accident
shock sets in like a bee to a hive
the voice inside her head screams.
Breaking down into nothing,
feeling like she's lost everything.

He returns home
still she is unable to visit
and still the other one bites
hoping for her to go fishing.
Buying things for her and cornering her
he'll never get into her net.
But trying to tell him without there being a fight
she hates seeing her angel hurt.
But boys will be boys.

Months have flown by since their first meeting,
when she finally caught her fish.
Seems like a million years
but to them a few days.
Maybe this fish can last
and she'll be happy forever.
Though troubles will come
to smite their relationship
but somehow
amazingly
they always get through.
