They Have It All Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

They Have It All

Have you ever thought that famous people have it all
Their magnitude is built on their ability to enthrall
Think about how they stand out from the ordinary crowd…
Success and notoriety fascinate us; we love to be wowed

What is the price for being in the lime light of achievement
Can an outstanding performance result in sad bereavement
Our thirst for a window into their personal lives is an obsession
Why is it that many famous people experience depression

When someone has a status to endorse, they often congeal
They lose their precious privacy; daily routines become surreal
When shopping at the store or taking their children out to play…
The paparazzi hunts with intruding lenses, stalking their prey

The famous have wealth we admire and wish we could acquire
A steep penalty for fame is a price not many of us would desire
What is the most important thing that we all want and need
The anonymous have it... the freedom to breathe… Agreed?

Sometimes I wonder these exact things about famous people. Why are they gloomy even though they have it all? This poem speaks the truth! Nice job with this poem!

I often think of those that have it all and wonder what they do with it. I agree with you there are other things worth having instead. Usually your poems are shorter. I guess you made this one much fluffier and verbose to illustrate the uselessness of having so much. Well done!
