They Let Go Poem by Abbie Gorsuch

They Let Go

She hides her face in the pillow
She hears the rain outside the window
She wants to forget the love she gave
So on the inside her life to save.

She smiles for everyone on the outside
She pretends theres no pain on the inside
She knows theres no way to forget him
So the life she lives is a blur and so dim.

He gets out the old photo book
He looks at all the pictures they took
He remembers her laugh and her smile
So he can act okay again for a while.

He wants her back though he won't say
He whispers i love you most everyday
He tries to forget the memories they had
So he can act like he's a little less sad.

They wish they could go back in time
They try to say the words they could'nt find
They can't change the past, this they know
So they both do their best to let go.
