They May Poem by Weldon Davis

They May

They may have taken my freedom
But they can never have you
My memories of the good times
We shared

They may tell me what to eat
But they can't replace
All the times I reminisce
When it was me and you
In the kitchen

They may tell me 'lights out'
But they can never lay to rest
All the times
I layed beside you in harmony

They may deny me of my words
They may deny me of my worth
They can deny, deny, and deny
Some more
But they can never deny me
The complete love I feel
For you right now
And forever
Regardless if I'm in prison
Or totally free
Out there
In the peaceful world
