Things That Linger Poem by G J Salgado

Things That Linger

Angry words
Face full of dirt

Mid-morning dreams
A presence of the unseen

Beating of a baby's heart
Long walks in the dark

A mother's dying cries
Childhood lullabies

Legends of royalty
A soldier's loyalty

The red bird that visits
A lonely girl that sits

An old man that waits
Apple pies fresh baked

Winter romances
Second chances

Wolves eyes
Tired sighs

Things that hurt
An ultimate universe

Magic within my finger
Upon all of things that linger
