Thirty Dolphins Came Ashore Poem by Stephen Katona

Thirty Dolphins Came Ashore

Rating: 4.5

Common dolphins came ashore,
Maybe thirty or more,
On this beach in Brazil,
People showed a will.

As they heard the wails,
They grabbed their tails,
Pulling out to sea,
So they could flee.

To follow each other,
As a child their mother.
A visitor from above,
Would see their love.

With a greater worth
Than much on this earth.
If only our pride
Would let them guide.

They're more humane,
Than those who reign.
I leave a plea,
To keep them free.

You could write a children's story book in poetry :)

You seem to be very fond of Dolphins.... Among your poems, I saw many titles on Dolphin.... Yes, they are such lovely creatures! If we observe them, we can see greater warmth among animals than in some humans! A very earnest plea at the end which adds to the beauty of the poem!
