Thiruvalluvar's Couplets On ' Expatiation Of Love's Excellence' Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

HE says:
1121. The dribble from the white-teeth of this soft-spoken damsel
is akin to the amalgam of milk and honey.
1122. The bond between me and this maid
is like the chemistry between body and soul.
1123. No other abode is there for my fair-browed darling.
So from the pupils of my eyes, leave you belle.
1124. When she lives beside me, she is my loving soul.
When the fair-jewelled leaves me, be she my departing soul.
1125. I never ever forget the virtues of the maid
with bright, war-like eyes.Why should I try recall her then?
SHE says:
1126. My lover would not bid bye to my eyes.
Being ethereal, he wouldn’t suffer pain even if I winked.
1127. My lover ever resides in my eyes.
I don’t paint my eyes liner fearing he will disappear.
1128. I fear to eat meal while it’s hot; as my lover,
dwelling in my heart, would feel hot.
1129. If I winked, I fear my lover would hide.Seeing me winking not,
the people say that he is an estranged lover.
1130. My lover ever abounds in my heart with delight.
But the people accuse him of being a lover in abandonment.
