This Dream So Sweet Poem by Matt Reyes

This Dream So Sweet

Last night I had this wonderful dream,
In my eyes it left a gleam.
For this dream was about you,
Oh I hope this dream comes true.
You were there right beside me,
Staring out into the sea.
The wind blew silently through your hair,
Your face so pretty I had to stare.
Your green eyes sparkling in the light,
As the day turned into night.
You shivered, I knew what to do,
So I put my arm around you.
You showed me that smile, oh so bright,
As we sat in the moonlight.
Then I blinked and you were gone,
And the night turned to the dawn.
I looked around and blinked again,
Opened my eyes, where was I then?
Standing alone in a park,
There was no sunlight, it was dark.
Then you showed up shouting 'Hun! '
And with you came the shining sun.
We embraced, you said to me,
'You fill me up with so much glee! '
Then I looked into your eyes,
Endless and beautiful as the skies.
'You are the girl for me, I knew it from the start,
I saw your face and that's the last I saw of my heart.'
These are the words that I said,
Your face blushed and turned red.
Then you said 'I'll love you till the end.'
'I'll love you too my beautiful friend.'
You were prettier than the sunset,
Yet as soon as our lips met,
I awoke alone in bed,
That wonderful dream still fresh in my head.
That dream I had of me and you,
oh I hope it does comes true.
The dream I had of you and me,
Sitting alone beside the sea.
The dream which soon turned dark,
Till you brought light as we hugged in the park.
Perhaps I'll have another dream like this,
About you who I really miss.
Now there's not much else to do,
Than to end this with an I Love You.
