This Is My Sadness Poem by Juan Olivarez

This Is My Sadness

Rating: 5.0

This is my sadness, and mine alone.
I've owned it now so many years.
Cold and lifeless, so like a stone,
This is my heartbreak, these are my tears.

This is my loneliness, my only friend,
Constant companion for so long.
Partners forever until the end,
Until the breath of life is gone.

And I can't complain, for I asked him in,
So many lonely years ago.
Now I've no heart, just a piece of tin,
Because of that day you let me go.
