This Is Who I Am Poem by Abdul Basit

This Is Who I Am

Rating: 4.5

sometimes i feel so happy,
sometimes i am kind of sad,
at times i hang by a thread,
somtimes i am soaked glad,
sometimes i feel like i'm outrageous,
sometimes i think 'am i really mad'?
sometimes i feel like a writer,
but at times the stuff i write seems so bad,

but i really don't care, i swear,
this is the way i am,
i live the way i want to,
and this is who i am,

sometimes lots of friends surge towards me,
sometimes m not even able 2 catch up wid 2 or 3,
sometimes m havin the best dayz of my life,
but sometimes pain swells inside me,
then i cannot fight free,
people usually marvel at my looks,
but sometimes i think i am the most ugly,

but i really don't care, i swear,
this is the way i am,
i live the way i want to,
and this is who i am

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is who you are... laid bare for all to see.. but not. Despite myself I rather like this. But don't swear, young man.

An insightful introspective piece of poetry written with clarity of thought and mind. Brave utterances elegantly brought forth with conviction. Thanks for sharing Abdul.

No human being is ugly.......only evil is ugly. Your poem really strongly reminds me of Eminem's 'The Way I Am'.... you should listen to it sometime. Anyway, great poem - don't let anyone change you.........too much conforming takes place in the world anyway. ok take care, - Dona -

I like your point here Abdul. It's a wonderful thing to be proud of who we are and not let others shake our foundation. It's nice that you feel such pride at such a young age. Good for you! Sincerely, Mary

Who you are is the most important. this one's nice. but like tara said, you needn't swear cause atleast you know who you are unlike many others out there who got no clue about it. Preets
