This Night Has Opened My Eyes Poem by Justin Gildow

This Night Has Opened My Eyes

Sitting in the backseat
The driver drives
The air that's around us smells so sweet
It's a special night

This night has opened my eyes
For the first time in a long time
In my pocket is a note from my girlfriend
I can't wait to see her
Which will be at some point
Some point in time
This night
Tonight

Lights and signs pass me by
The stars have chosen to hang out tonight
in the sky

This night has opened my eyes
The arcade's full of kids and teens
The Starbucks has a line inside
People grabbing their coffee
As well as hot chocolate and green tea
People have crawled out of their hiding places
The night is here
And they're ready to show their faces

My girlfriend is waiting for me
She'll see me tonight
