This Rainy Day Poem by Ashley Wade

This Rainy Day

Rating: 4.0

As the rain falls down from
The darkened sky
I sit at my window
In hopes that it will pass by.
Like a bird that flys,
But is caught in a cage,
I'm stuck in my house full of rage.
Murmuring to myself that
This is the start of the holidays,
Why, oh, why is there rain?
Now don't get me wrong,
I love the weather,
But today just feels,
Like worn out leather.
Wishing that I'm not in school,
As I write this blessed thing,
That leaves a ping inside my heart.
Why, oh, why did the rain have to start?
There he sits and there he stays.
Like a fool I wont look away.
Beacuse I'm intoxicated
By his presence,
I wish I could stick a bow on my head,
And say 'Merry Christmas' I'm your present.
Blast this rainy day.
Yes i sit and stare while
He stays in his seat across the room.
And i sit in a cloud of gloom,
Curse this lovely and wretched,
Rainy day.......
