This Time A Dream Poem by Arlene Dery

This Time A Dream

This time I held you tight,
and didn't let you go.
I'm wiser now, with better sight,
back then I didn't know;
The break-ing of my heart,
how much I would regret,
And if I had a brand new start,
the past I could forget.
Tho arms do ache without your touch,
I hold you close to me,
Is it really asking much,
to do this thing for me;
Let's go back, one time last,
begin again anew,
With no regrets about the past,
a happy end come true.
This time, I've truly done it right,
-if only in my dreams,
You are here, within my sight,
for nothing's as it seems.
