Those Spoken Words Poem by Edmund D. Zayat

Those Spoken Words

Rating: 4.8

Oh, how often we tend to say
To ourselves in a quiet way
"Please Lord, make this a better day
Give me strength, love and words to pray".
Words we find difficult to share
with those we love kept unaware
It's those we love we need to bare
Those spoken words that tell we care.
Words we need to utter aloud
Without shame, or feeling too proud
Whether alone or in a crowd
Speak up, and not with head low bowed.
If you forget or choose to wait
Those words you'd speak might be too late
so open your heart, don't hesitate
And then if need be reiterate.
T'will restore your soul anew
To say those words, if only a few
Kind, simple, tender words should do
Like the magic of "I love you".
