Those with the gift of compassion are those the Gods did bless
They always have great empathy for those who know of stress
They never seek advantage as some do for self gain
They understand the sorrow that comes from mental pain
For the welfare of others they genuinely do care
Yet those who have true compassion as a breed of people rare
People who are well worth knowing they go out of their way
To help out other people and do good deeds every day
Those who know of compassion to the higher self are true
And those with the gift of compassion only good karma are due
Though such people in politics are not known to succeed
Of leaders of the Nation of their type we are in need
The great gift of compassion is a marvellous gift indeed
But those who are blessed with it are those not born to lead.
