Thou Shall Not Kill Poem by Dr Kamran Haider Bukhari

Thou Shall Not Kill

(The Sixth Commandment by God given to Moses on the Mount Sinai)

Gaza
Crying, burning, bleeding and stripping
In front of the God Himself
On the soil of the supreme holiness
On the land of the universal benevolence

Human form transforming
To ravenous beasts
Mighty eating the meek
Today
Cruelty is at its peak

What can be the cause?
Where we went wrong?
Where God was dropped?
Intentionally or accidentally
In the dark sea
Of our lustful desires

Oil, money, land, skins, power
And the man-made religion
Burning in our heads
And
The children of the holy land
Bleeding to death

great..striking piece on the greediness of man... feeling as masters over all creations...trying to over power God.... the love of power, the love of money...the root of all evils.. makes us all vulnerable, esp the children.. if only they have fear in God..then they will be afraid to kill.... if only they can read your piece and melt their hearts.... and change it from heart of steel to a heart so soft.... and bear in mind and heart..one of the commandments of God 'THOU SHALL NOT KILL'......

Thou shall not kill, one of God's commandments given to Moses. And humanity must be reminded about this law. People who are overshadowed by hatred and over lighted by power and wealth, greediness and covetousness control the will. Making man's gift of rational thinking disabled, misleading humanity- to a wrong path and behavior. It is so sad for what's happening in Gaza or in any country experiencing war, evil have commanded the terrorist to do such actions, like killing.....What we can do for them is to pray for peace, and let God's light shine upon them to enlighten their hearts and minds.....Thanks for sharing this poem, had a wonderful read...10

Kamran, another masterpiece, in my humble opinion. Yet, religion, gods, prayers, blame, killing, human tumult, human insanity, human inhumanity to all creatures are all heartbreakers for me. People are educated, but not taught to think logically? We each need love, care and goodwill, but never learned intuitively that all creatures cannot survive without like/same nurturing? We, individually, want to live and not be killed, yet our gods talk to us (so many say, including President George Bush) and condone and suggest killing others? Sorry, but it all dumbfounds and deadens me. 'Pray' is often the word/order of the day. Any positive thought process can work wonders, yes, and prayer falls into that category of energy. Prayers directly sent to gods go unanswered. Gods invented evil and gave us freedom of choice? What, they were bored and needed entertainment and diversion? Fear rules all creatures. Humans believe they are developed and exceptional but, to me, we're still nothing but primitive animals. If I were god, would I have creatures eating creatures? Creatures afraid of each other? Territorial boundaries provoking violence and invasion? Sweet innocent children being abused, tortured and killed? Prisons? Starvation? Overindulgence in food, alcohol, drugs, material goods, ad infinitum? Chemicals poisoning the air? Greed? Cold unfeeling people? One god saying they're better than another? I could go on forever, but we humans must tune into nature, and we must sit and open up and listen to and meet with others. We have to be tolerant and loving. We have to accept that we're all the same and deserve the best of all that life provides. We must eliminate institutions, political parties and religious sects that separate people. I apologize for this diatribe. My best to you and yours, Carol

We hate those Rabble rousing speeches which motivate us tokill for thrill. We denounce those sleeping consciences who callfor peace but enjoy the fight of warring nations. We support peace. Gaza and Khan Younis bleed for the cause of peace. Hopefully, Their blood will water down the orchards of peace.

When ever atrocities have reached its pinnacle god has always taken an incarnation on earth to the battle the evil, can we hope for such a miracle and sit in anticipation or here goes a story ' Once a man frustrated by such maladies seeks god and asks him to send a saviour who can fight evil, put an end to the violence...god then said, thinking so i had sent you, what did you do? ' Each one of us is an incarnation we have to help each other, help the world! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
