Thoughts Poem by Lance Carthen

Thoughts

He never saw it coming
The train just came too fast
Now his families crying
Praying their pain does not last
Across the world a volcano erupts
Thousands in its path
Burning, flaming and soul claiming
Destroying everything with life
People cry and people pray
But do their lives really change?
What about the conscience wonders?
Who said the brilliant had to be sane?
Somethings you cant explain.
Others are difficult to figure out
But one thing stays the same
There is no future under this cloud
The cloud of madness
The cloud of fury
What makes your mother proud?
An earthquake erupts on the promise land
Burying those on the hill that knelt
No compassion a force of nature
Now who do you say you love? Tragedy felt.
How many people are eligible for death
Is it already witten or is it a myth?
How many tears does the human body contain?
How many emotions wasted as they are drained.
