Thoughts On Love. Poem by Charles M Moore

Thoughts On Love.

Rating: 5.0

I suppose it's now time I uncovered my mind
and laid bare my thoughts about you
exposing the truth from the days of my youth
and spoke of love and how it all began

I was just in my teens you arrived on the scene
I first realised how emotion really felt
and being a kid doing things that I did
I gave you my all then watched you disappear

This obbsession that grows twisting hot and then cold
you love that cries yet brings warmth
these feelings for you I never knew
that when they 'd gone I'd feel quite so miserable

And so it went on with a passion so strong
I tried to love everyone I met
but it ended the same standing up to your pain
love I don't understand still have no regrets

Now once again like some old absent friend
youv'e delivered yourself and I'm pleased to see you
though I have a new plan if you'll just take my hand
and lay down beside me in quiet innocence

Let us just touch what we both need so much
and tell the truth we need each other
no longer a boy I've given up toys
I don't want to play games I don't have the time

Because nobody wins so you begin
start over again and hope you get it right
stay here with me this much we'll agree
we'll get along fine take it easy.
