Three Trips Till Decomission Poem by James Barrs

Three Trips Till Decomission

Sing about how you're glad
To be alive, survive.

Don't admit that death entices,
Solemn vices.

Caught in the confusion trap,
Rabbit in the magician's hat.

So many ways to overcome abuse,
Misuse of power.

El presidente' before the hunta
Virus attack, family ties,

Brought you back to Lisbon,
Where you dreamt, poet again.

All I wanted was to be known,
For my words, foolish hope,

Before all the dopes gone,
Slow moving speed train,

Burning too much gas,
Three trips till decommission.

Locked down baby boy,
Ancient in the head,
Way too young to be dead.
