Through His Soul Poem by Ryan Holmes

Through His Soul

He’d always searched for the words to say,
To let her know how he had felt,
She had to find out one of these days
The way she had made his heart melt

He soon had built up his self-control,
He’d tell her next time they convene,
His stomach inside was sinking low,
This love had torn up his being,

He found the words hard to come along,
This was a complicated task,
He made the choice to put words to song
To release the feelings he masked,

He wrote and wrote, he poured out his soul,
He’d give her these words soon enough,
But then one day, came this heavy blow,
She’d found another one to love,

His heart was wretched out of his body
And stomped on in front of his eyes,
He thought this through; he’d just have to leave
So nobody would see him die

Fore he could no longer live to see
Their happiness near his sorrow,
He read his song until the tears seeped
Through his eyes and through his soul
