Through The Rain (2000) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

Through The Rain (2000)

Withered by squalls of emotional charge
a guarded wall I keep
The masked bandit of personality
Loving heart hidden behind deceit

Character born of unnoticed hills
Her acceptance forever in question
Feeling unlovable while many don't see
The growing sadness inside of she

Insanity came 'a call you see
Lost to her was the key
Removed suddenly from the world she knew
Protected from what she felt was true

A credit-less act sex is to love
In search of something far better above
The caring trust of old she knew
would start a guideline that continually grew

Problems and Promises, she knew her fair share
The passing time ringing of disrepair
slowly balance she worked hard to find
Logic justifying tired heart, soul, and mind

Turn To God as you've done before
A voice softly reminded
Though people come and go, honey
Has not he always been near?

Somewhere he watches your stumbles
The fearful, fiery tongues of dragons
Terrors filling up a night, and catcalls by day
You shall not be harmed

An angel he sends to guide
To light the candle of your heart
Oh child, believe! as you must
Smile she does, even through the rain
