Throwing Of A Dice Poem by Waseem Sherif

Throwing Of A Dice

verse 1
Once in a while I get a wakeup call
But I never opened my eyes.
The life I have is cheap after all.
A dream is what holds all my cries.
(a dream is the only and all my ties.)

So eyes closed, I scream at the world.
A shockwave rebounding inside
It's the sound of silence from within
a self that's torn between the tides.
(a self that's trying not to abide.)

Chorus:
It's the one truth I know.
And I know I will pay its price.
It's the one truth I know.
And it's simply a throwing of a dice.

Verse 2
Once in a while I hear a soft voice.
I never figured out if it's real or not.
It said I always have a choice
between a truth and a twisted plot.

I lived so burdened, so hurt
with a self that was never mine.
The pain was too much yet I never tried
to choose the truth and act in time.

Chorus 2
But It's the one truth I know.
And I know I'm paying the price.
It's the one truth I know.
And It's turning my heart into ice.
