Thunder Poem by Rosa Linger

Thunder

A cascade of sound
Ripples down
Aimed at ground
Wraps around
The house with a crash!

Rumble rolling
Depths unfolding
Forgetful strolling
Bronze bell tolling
Breaking breeze and fading...

Seeks a brightening
Treads on lightning
Not to be frightening
But just as rightening
Trades sight for sound and fury

Windows rattle
Branches prattle
No birds tattle
Except the cattle
Who bellow out the harmony

It's gone as fast
They never last
But a spell is cast
On memory vast
Waiting for a tumbled cascade again.
