Tiger Eye Poem by Barry Middleton

Tiger Eye

Rating: 5.0

I looked into the tiger's eye
and shared the air
that only fools
would dare to breathe.
I heard my heart above the beast
but with the beast
and in the beast.
I looked into the tiger's eye
and saw my empty stare.

Thank you Norah. Again this was written when I was quite young. Looking at fears, I heard my own heart, and knew the fear was part of me, in my DNA, which is a lonely thought because if that is true, we can never escape fear. We just have to go with it and not let it consume us.
