Time Poem by Anne Gable

Time

Rating: 4.0

time
You can never hold it's aged wings,
nor stop it from
changing your face
your body,
or your mind.
angerly flitting by you,
ignoring your pleas to halt!
the wind has no say,
nor does the rain-
yet the oceans
behave by the dusty laws of time-
as does the moon.
Though many births scoff at time...
time wins out,
and at it's leisure.
The years count time..
it is their measure..
they do their job,
to make your garden wither,
to assure your toes will curl.
You will become a mournful shade of gray,
because time has no conscience.
as we enter this world we cry, we wail..
because time is against our imortality.
and it will win out...
we cannot fight it,
Even with our guns and boxing gloves,
we know we can never win...
