Time For Heaven Poem by Arlene Dery

Time For Heaven

Though my soul longs to be,
On that side eternally,
There's a reason, here to stay,
Wonder why most every day.

When I walk through heaven's door,
There'll be joy for evermore,
With His touch, a tear be gone,
For that day, I do so long.

Help me, with patience wait,
To go beyond Your heaven's gate.
With Your mercy, teach me how,
Show me what to do here now.

To bide the time for heaven's worth,
To learn about eternal work.
A reward - I'll want to earn,
A robe to spin at every turn.

A crown in which to set a gem,
A crown in which to give to Him.
There'll be joy, when time is done,
For Him to say, job well done.

While I'm here I really know,
You'll stay with me and love me so,
Make my earthly work be now,
Treasure to behold somehow.

I ask, oh Lord, help me see,
How time meets eternity,
When my work will pass the test,
I'll go home and finally rest.
