Time Is My Prison Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Time Is My Prison

Time will keep you prisoner
For yesterday is done
Today is all you have
Tomorrow is where we run
We spend our days in then, not now
And worry about what may be
We lose our focus on where we’re at
For now, it sets us free
We cannot change what we have done
Nor can we plan ahead
For now is our only guarantee
For tomorrow we may be dead
The gifts that come we overlook
We live in our regrets
We get anxious for our future
It’s what we can’t control, we let
So it’s time to unlock that prison door
And time to set you free
Don’t worry about what could have been
It’s now that holds your key
