Time Out Poem by Craig Fieldings

Time Out

Time, I said it’s time! Tick Tock around it goes, never stopping. Some say too fast or too slow, regardless there seems to be never enough. Yet time knows, and it’s always on time.

PHILOSOPHY: Listen to your elders, sitting on the porch drinking lemonade. I remember the time when I was your age……blah, blah blah… those were simpler times then. CONCERN: Damn black man you are serving alot of time behind bars. How will you spend that time? ADMIRING: Excuse me sweetheart but could you tell a brotha the time? You know when I look at you, time just seems to stand still. REFLECTION: These days have changed, I can remember better times don’t you? . COMICAL: Man! , you dress like you just stepped out of a time machine. URGENCY: This is the era of technology, so you better get with the times. LIFETIME: My health is not that good, Doc says my time is running out. REVALATION: This a sign of the times. They say, that was the beginning and this is the end of times. Tick tock, tick tock around it goes, never stopping, not fast enough, not slow enough, but right on time. I think I got too much time on my hands. But before I go ask yourself this, if I had time to do it all over again would I? Look at the time, I have to go. We’ll meet another time. Sincerely, Father Time.
