Time Stops Poem by Eduardo Torres

Time Stops

Time stops,
I'm lost
once it continues
I resume
the seconds tick away
minutes move by
hours pass away
days seem long
years take forever

I walk by look at my watch,
everything is paused,
people stop, cars slowly move,
to a halt,
I close my eyes
open them,
Everything continues again,
cars move by
couples sitting by the park
kids having fun on the swings,

I look at the ground
look up,
everything pauses,
what causes me to pause time,
I can't be in control of time,
cause without time,
the world would be lost,
I sit on a bench,
look at my wrist watch,

The time shows its 11: 11
I make a wish,
my wish is made,
nothing happens,
I sit there,
with a tear pouring down,
no ones around me
I look at the clock
it's still paused at 11: 11,
its a sign,
I have to make the right wish,
I make a wish,
once again,
nothing happens,

I make another wish,
and I hear a voice,
people are talking cars move by
the sun shines,
clouds departure,
I look at the clock,
its 11: 12,
In the corner of my eye,
I see her,

She's walking towards me,
I couldn't believe it,
my wish came true,

This whole time,
time stopped,
cause she wasn't here,
But she's here now,
everything resumes.
